Why ECDA matters

Europe’s microelectronics sector faces a dual challenge: growing demand for talent and persistent barriers that limit who can participate and thrive. ECDA was created to help address these challenges by embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into the future of the sector.

Our work is grounded in the belief that a stronger, more competitive European chips ecosystem depends on opening opportunities more widely and building systems that support a broader range of people, perspectives, and career pathways.

Our objectives

Formalise the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Council under the Pact for Skills.
Develop an innovative methodology to assess the landscape of DEI in the EU chips sector.
Monitor progress for trends and dynamics.
Pinpoint challenges and opportunities and define policy recommendations and actionable measures.
Enable academia and industry to enhance DEI in the microelectronics sector.
Develop innovative training that is directly linked to European Union standards.
Develop tools to implement DEI in education, training and industry.
Implement innovative engagement programmes between academia and industry.
