The overall goal of the training programme is to:
  1. Raise awareness of DEI’s contribution to organisations in the semiconductor industry and build understanding of key terms and concepts in relation to DEI among current and future staff members.
  2. Provide the tools and strategies for different target groups to develop and adopt effective DEI actions and contribute to safe working environment for everyone.
  3. Facilitate collaboration between industry and education sector to develop joint strategies contributing to better access to opportunities in semiconductor industry for underrepresented groups.
5 TRAINING MODULES

1. Understanding DEI

The learning unit provides a fundamental overview of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), emphasizing its significance. Participants will gain insights into the relevance of DEI in the semiconductor industry, situate the topic within a broader context, and prepare for deeper engagement with its key concepts and themes.

2. My role in DEI

This module equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize and address unconscious bias, stereotypes, and microaggressions in the workplace. It provides practical strategies for fostering inclusivity through bystander interventions, active allyship, and inclusive communication. Learners will also explore techniques for building resilience, empowering themselves and others, and developing leadership behaviors that promote belonging and equity across the organization.

3. Diversifying your workforce

This module explores diversity and inclusion across the Employee Life Cycle, from recruitment to retention. Participants will learn how to set meaningful goals and metrics, build an inclusive organisational brand, and implement equitable hiring and performance review practices. The training also covers strategies for engaging employees and managers, fostering inclusive workplace cultures, and applying practical DEI approaches in both large organisations and SMEs.

4. Inclusive Leadership

This module focuses on inclusive leadership in the semiconductor industry, highlighting the business case for DEI and its long-term benefits. Participants will explore strategies for fostering psychological safety, belonging, and cultural competence to effectively manage diverse teams. The training also addresses DEI fatigue, self-awareness, and leadership development, equipping leaders at all levels with the tools to build sustainable, inclusive organisations.

5. Bridging the gap: Educator-industry collaboration for diverse talent

This module explores how diversity, equity, and inclusion can strengthen STEM education with a focus on microelectronics. Educators will examine the effects of unconscious bias, learn tools to attract and retain diverse talent, and design inclusive learning environments. The course also highlights industry–education collaborations and showcases diverse career pathways in manufacturing, R&D, and software development, inspiring students from all backgrounds to pursue opportunities in the semiconductor sector.
