As part of ECDA’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable semiconductor ecosystem, this award recognises individuals making significant contributions to inclusion within the European microelectronics industry.

Celebrating leaders who inspire progress and measurable change, the Spark Excellence Award spotlights professionals whose dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is driving real impact across the sector. Nominations will open soon for 2026 award.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Nominees must be employed in the European microelectronics industry and show a clear commitment to inclusion through actions such as mentorship, advocacy, or community engagement. The ECDA Diversity in Chips Leadership Board will evaluate submissions based on impact, innovation, leadership, and alignment with DEI principles. 

  • A clear and sustained commitment to DEI values, both within their organisation and externally
  • Measurable or visible impact on inclusion, equity, and belonging in the workplace
  • The ability to inspire others and catalyse inclusive action across the industry
  • Contributions beyond their company, such as mentorship, advocacy, or volunteering

Submissions will be reviewed by the ECDA Diversity in Chips Leadership Board, with the winner selected based on demonstrated impact, leadership, innovation, and alignment with DEI principles.

Recognition & Benefits

The recipient will be honoured during the CxO Summit at SEMICON Europa, November 10–13, 2026 | Munich, Germany, and continued involvement in ECDA activities. To foster continuity and build community, the recipient will also be invited to present the award to the following year’s winner.

Additional recognition includes:

  • Invitation to the SEMICON Networking Night with senior industry leaders
  • Visibility across ECDA’s social media platforms
  • Potential future involvement as an ECDA ambassador or advisor
  • Opportunity to contribute to ECDA activities such as training, DEI content, and advocacy
  • Invitation to present the 2026 award to next year’s recipient

This award aims not only to recognise achievement but to foster continuity and community within ECDA’s mission to build a more inclusive European semiconductor industry.
